We know that people value the use of their hands! Specializing in Hand Therapy, our Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) has extensive training, knowledge and experience in the rehabilitation of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. The types of conditions treated vary from chronic or overuse injuries like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome to acute injuries such as hand or elbow fractures. Frequently individuals are referred by surgeons for splinting, exercises, edema management or scar control after surgery. As an expert in creating custom thermoplastic splints and fitting prefabricated braces, your CHT will ensure it is the correct one for you. You will be treated in a trusting environment with one-on-one care while we help you restore function and return to the activities you enjoy!

Telehealth: Online Hand Therapy

This is a secure online video session that provides face to face time with a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). The physiotherapist will observe and discuss your injury and the recommended treatment for your condition. Your physiotherapist is able to demonstrate and review with you appropriate exercises and activities without you having to leave your home or office.

Physiotherapist and Certified Hand Therapist / Owner

Eric has been a registered Physiotherapist for over 26 years in Victoria. Eric became intrigued with physiotherapy while attending treatments for a knee injury he obtained playing sports. This first-hand experience revealed how the profession of physiotherapy empowered people to participate in their recovery and return to the activities they enjoy. Eric’s curiosity of the workings of the human body began as a child with his parents working in the medical field. As Eric has always enjoyed helping people, a career in Physiotherapy was a natural fit.

Eric completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria in 1992. He worked for the next three years as a kinesiologist which sparked his ambition to become a physiotherapist. He attended the University of British Columbia and achieved his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1998. Following graduation, Eric practiced in general physiotherapy and worked with several sports teams. During this time, he started working part-time in hand therapy. Over the next few years, Eric became passionate about specializing in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation and became a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 2004.

Eric enhances his skills through continuing education. He attends annual events of the BC Hand Society and the University of Washington Hand Centre. While constant learning is essential, Eric believes the most important component of his clinical practice is the relationships he builds with his clients. By learning about each person, he can provide individual hands-on treatment, splints, exercises, and the education needed after an injury or surgery to assist clients in accomplishing their recovery goal. He also enjoys sharing his knowledge in hand therapy and has mentored several university students during their clinical placements.

In the community, Eric volunteers for a local baseball organization as an administrator and instructing umpire clinics. He enjoys barbequing, fishing and listening to music. Eric and his wife love being entertained by, and spending time with, their two teenage daughters.
